. No solid evidence has been found either of his existence or parentage. He appears frequently in popular genealogies, but without sources inspiring confidence or any sources at all. Even the place associated with him in name, Bibigny, is posing difficulties in location.
Supposed facts about him are presented below as research notes to facilitate discovery of additional information about him or legends surrounding him.
Geni presents him as born about 580 in Bibigny, Neustria (now Belgium) and as the son of Mummolin, Mayor of the Palace of Neustria [3]
He appears in locations named both as Bibigny and Bobigny. Bibigny is the older location name and is associated with Neustria. Bobigny today is a prefecture in the northeast suburbs of Paris. [4]
Geni presents him as the brother of[3]
Geni presents him as the half brother of[3]
Boddy presents Sandregisisle of Bobigny marrying Gertrude. [2][5]
Delaforce [6] presents the relationship as non-marital and describes Gertrude as the daughter of Theodebald who founded the convent at Hamage near Douai and became its first abbess.
Delaforce notes that Gertrude's status as abbess did not interfere with her having a child, Bertrude, by Ricomer de Bourgogne, and then, after his death, a daughter, Nanthild, by Sandregisisle. [6]
Geni gives him a death year of 660.[3]
Different genealogies give him different children:
Delaforce presents "Nanthild de Bobigny (610-642) as the daughter of Sandregisisle de Bobigny (590 - ?) and Gertrude Abbess d'Hamage (570 - 12/649). Nanthild herself is then the wife of Dagobert I (602 - 19/1/639 Saint Denis) King of Austrasia 623-632 & France from 628, and they are the parents of Clovis II King of Neustria & Burgundy (633 or 4 - 31/10/657) [6] However, no documentation has been found to support this. Documentation by Cawley concerning Nanthild, tends to refute such a connection. This documentation [7] includes:
